We were the first law practice in Stellenbosch to appoint an equal black equity partner, and we believe we were one of the first in the Western Cape to do so. Regrettably he was recently head-hunted by the Independent Complaints Directorate and joined this para-statal as its Western Cape Director. We are proud to have played a part in preparing him for this position and in developing his skills and experience. Until we are able to replace him, we are focusing on other aspects of black economic empowerment such as skills transfer.
Sixty-seven per cent of our professional staff are female. We embrace the transformation of the Cape Bar by appointing black and female advocates wherever possible. Fifty per cent of our secretarial and administrative staff are black.
